We have all been there in that we have seen a fab winter coat, winter boots or something that is just outwith our price range and thought 'I will wait until the sales'  This is great if you manage to get the size, colour and price you are looking for - often that is not the case, especially if you are a popular size.

Another reason to shop now is because we are not really thinking of snow, wind, gales etc at the moment and by the time this weather hits us - normally February - March then shops are starting to fill with Spring clothes and there is very little else on the shop floors,

Purchasing a classic yet stylish core piece early in the season is a worthwhile investment.  The main reason for this is that season after season this garment can be brought out and worn again and again by changing the accessories or having minor alterations made to bring it up to date giving it a complete new look and re-vamp.  (Find a seamstress - your new best friend). 

A good quality garment lasts for a very long time - picking up something cheap and cheerful is a false economy as it will need replacing more often.
